Yarmouth Thursday Evening ( 27th)

As I am no longer in employment (well I dont have to turn up but are still getting paid for a few weeks more ) I have been instructed not to make petrol our biggest monthly expenditure ....., but on Thursday I may well be burning some petrol to get to Yarmouth for an evening drink/meal at about 6.30ish

Anyone fancy it ? I am thinking of it as a warm up/ early start to the Bank Holiday weekend.

The weather is not as good as it has been, but still warm & generally Yarmouth always has its own sunshine ( or so I am told).

Pete

Scurvy Crew and I could be up for this, although it'll need some organisation since tides dictate that I take time out of work to launch the boat in advance and also fuel it from last week-end's trip before then collecting Scurvey Crew at 18.00 from Wimborne where he's mixing some music until then and then coming over to Yarmouth!

Will let you know tomorrow!

Looks like we're on for this evening. Supper in The Wheatsheaf from around 7.30pm.

If anyone wants to join us, they're more than welcome.

Depends what you were up to ?..........

It was a very pleasant evening -a great clear sky and calm water. I said goodbye to Avocet at about 10.40 just off Christchurch. Only to hear a call for assistance from CG to a broken down fishing boat in about the area Avocet was passing.....

30 seconds later I hear him offering to assist said boat ' Jessica Rose' .......

I expect he is now just about getting in having towed it into Poole harbour, hopefully to gratefull thanks from the boat in trouble( having avoided the two rather large fast ferries that were going in/out at the same time !

Another late night out on the water for David - but well done, no-one else except the RNLI was going to do it . I was temped to head back out but reckoned you could manage a 21ft fishing boat tow by the time I had got there.

Jessica Rose safely returned to her mooring just inside Poole Harbour shortly after midnight after liaison with Condor Vitesse/Poole Harbour Control to confirm that commercial traffic would get priority through the harbour entrance. Uneventful as tows go but still exciting. Jessica Rose was extremely grateful and kindly offered payment for fuel which was declined. Karma.

Got home at 1.00am after 3.00pm the previous night! Will use the bank holiday to catch up on sleep....

No Bruised limbs I'm glad to report! And no bruised ego either, was rather funny and rather pleased that Hugo didn't see it

First of all I'm glad you all had a nice evening, and a BIG well don't to Avocet for rescuing the Jessica Rose, a true gent!

I went to see a performance of Dad's Army at my local Theatre, with my Dad! Was a really good performance and very well done. Leslie Grantham played Private Joe Walker the "black market" guy.
