10 Years
Just noticed, I have been on here just over 10 years, and I didn't receive a cake, or anything to mark the occasion... At work I got a swish 10 years service pen....
Seriously though 10 years is a long time to be on one website, and it down to all the good guys on here - all the advice I have been given over the years has saved me so much!
Looking back to my first post's - bringing back memories of the charter nightmare I found myself in!

You must be either mad, stupid or a masochist to still be on here.... Just like the rest of us I guess!
A decade of fun. Well done/commiserations....

I'd imagine that like me you've prompted many others to have a look at when they joined up.
Just realised I missed my 10yr anniversary in January this year.
How things have changed since then
Nasher.

Dear Steve,
I spoke with JK earlier regarding your time spent here. He's of the opinion that given your good behaviour, you could be considered for parole in another 12 months.
P.S. Any cakes will be eaten checked for files...

Just given me a slight guilty feeling though.
Been on here for so long and taken so much from so many members but given very little back.
I always did wonder where people vanished to, but 10 years is a long time to stay committed to one hobby - and fund it!
With my first child on the way I just hope I am still here in another 10.

Why not you're a young man
Fester is a builder come part time undertaker and is a S.A.B.S. member, so if you don't make it I'm sure that he could come to some sort of arrangement

I don't know, but I can tell you that 15 years ago I was outraged to be charged 35p/litre for diesel at Falmouth and paid something like 11p/litre in Scrabster!

Funny, I was looking through some old pics the other night and found one with our local BP in the background. 42p/litre for unleaded and diesel was cheaper than petrol.

Here you go
Petrol Prices
Still cheap compared to beer, but the Etec doesn't like beer

We switched from solid fuel to oil heating in the mid 90's, the first heating oil we bought was 8p/l, yup that's right 8p/l It's now around 55p/l but has been as high as 77p/l. Now we've got solar panels, the Gov. pays us to heat our water or at least it does when the feckin sun shines

Yes things have changed; My first post was asking about bareboat charter on the south cost - and now I am lucky enough to own a RIB.
