I don't want to put a dampener on things, but whilst we are all sat here free to take the p155 out of each other, just give a thought to those who made it possible
Sort of puts the 2s v 4s debate into perspective

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

puts a lot of things in perspective.

And for those who think all kids are computer game idiots who don't care (me included sometimes), I just went out to the cenotaph in the wind and rain in Nantwich where an 11 yr old boy played the last stand. With over a 100 people watching in coats and under umbrellas he played with one hand holding his music flapping around getting wet and the other holding the instrument.

Good on him.

Those that gave would have been proud of him.

I can't find the words to express my gratitude towards these people who gave their lives for us.

As a senior member of the CCF Naval section, I will be present at a major remembrance service this weekend and will pay my utmost respects to those who fell then, and continue to do so now.

Having been very moved on my visit to the First World War Memorials in France and Belgium earlier this year, I will certainly not partake in events on Sunday without complete sincerity. Experiencing the service at the Menin Gate is certainly not something that can ever be forgotten.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

I was at Lympstone where my stepson is training to be a Royal Marine Officer and the two minutes silence was certainly very well respected and no doubt provoked a lot of thought about what the future of all of the Young Officers present might hold.
