Very kind of you I'll have a look and see what I can draw up it'll be similar to what I have but more streamlined with a radius around the tube.

A little project for someone who has a printer and would like to try to make something for me. My Bravo BTP12 pump hose is very stiff, I would like to replace it with something more forgiving but I cant find the screw in fitting separately that Bravo use to screw into the pump body. Its an internal thread one end of the fitting and it would need just a plain spigot on the other so I can attach a flexable hose.
Is this fairly easy to generate with a CAD program?

sounds simple... if you were to use a different hose - would you just have it jubilee clipped on to the newly designed fitting? The only pain would be trying to identify the thread - there maybe a simple way of doing it on CAD, will have a play!

Yes a spigot say 16-18mm od which I could clamp a hose onto or maybe glue one on. As you say identifying the thread is the hard part I dont want to destroy what I have to give a sample though I could give the dimensions inc thread pitch etc.

Very easy to design and print, but to make it strong would require some cunning thinking as the default method and material would be weak in the wrong axis.

I have two of those Bravo hose screw connections in my shed.
Maybe someone would print me some cash?

Not necessarily, I have had great success with tube constructions that needed to be strong by printing inner and outer sleeves to a suitable diameter tube in suitable material.
Thats the kind of process a mass manufacturer cannot justify, so you can end up with a superior fit and composite build.

Willk kindly posted the end fitting to me early Nov and it appeared to have gone walkabout in the postal system as 2 weeks went by and no sign we declared it lost at sea. Just when I was resigned to go back to the 3d print idea it popped through my letterbox yesterday afternoon

Just bought an Ender 3 also.
Looking forward to printing off stuff that just cant be bought however I am dreading learning one of the CAD programs. I was recommended to try blender but after watching the first three tutorial videos on it I literally learned nothing.
I need something simpler! Microsoft paint but with 3d!

Welcome to the fold!
Blender is a nightmare, it does way too much for what we humble boaty types need!
For simple geometric shapes we use Tinkercad. It was an indi startup but quickly got bought up by Autodesk and is "sold" (its free) as a school/teaching type level.
Its all cloud based, so nothing to download. Have a look and if you would like any hints/tips/tutorials let me know.

Here is a screen grab of an A frame design we produced for a customer in Canadia
Done from scratch in Tinkercad
Also the HMCG Helicopter in my profile photo was done the same way, again from scratch - starting with a blank page and no imported shapes.

Hey Obsidian, awesome recommendation. Tinkercad is definately more my level!
Allready started. I have a few old chartplotters lying around without mounts so that has been my first project.
What do you recommend for the slicer software?
