Pearson must have interpreted that there hadn't been 'no regard to the player's safety'
..or he got it wrong.

well having watched the england game back after seeing it first hand from the stands i think we was lucky! Scotland should have had the game and but for their final phase, they had us much of the time.
Good performance from England considering everything and hopefully they can build. Owen Farrell looks a class act! be interesting to watch him develop.
I know there are plenty of Scottish people here so i choose my words carefully, but i was really disapointed by the lack of sportsmanship the crowd at Murrayfield showed. We were sat with a few other England fans but obviously the minority (as you would expect). i just put the abuse we got down to frustration at their team not finishing the game off when they had chance. i wont be going back to Murrayfield in a hurry thats for sure!

A few years back we went to Northern Ireland for a race (pre 2000) and had a fantastic welcome by every single person, the following weekend we were racing in Broughty Ferry and received nothing but abuse from anyone not associated with the racing - we were even warned that it wouldn't be safe to go into Dundee for a drink! I have avoided Scotland ever since wherever possible! I did have to go to Loch Lomond for a wedding last year and it does appear that tourist areas one is tolerated and even welcomed by most but I wouldn't go touring there ever!

Cookee - I'm sorry to hear that. I wonder if the problem was your association with the race (and it disturbing peoples Sunday morning lie in) rather than your nationality? Broughty Ferry seems like quite a nice place. I know a couple of people from round there and I'd have predicted that as one of the areas least likely to give you any hassle for being English.
Now the advice not to drinking in Dundee - especially in the 1990s - for your own safety was well founded. But that advice applies to anyone from outside Dundee: it is affectionately known by some as the armpit of Scotland!
Zippy - Sorry you didn't get the welcome you wanted at Murrayfield, I hope the rest of the city was better behaved. There has always been an atmosphere for the Calcutta Cup at Murrayfield, but I don't know if its just me getting old or Rugby is changing - but it doesn't seem as gentlemanly as it did 20 yrs ago.
