6 Nations

Well, what a cracking - albeit slightly disappointing start to the 6 Nations.
Even though England lost I thought the Calcutta Cup game was close, exciting Rugby and fair play to Scotland for their breaks through the England defence.

Not seen the Wales Ireland match yet but know the result!

Six Nations 2023: England 23-29 Scotland - Superb Scots retain Calcutta Cup

I saw the results just now and immediately thought - 'Jambo will be delighted', before I remembered

Maybe he is...

EDIT: Why are we in North America? Is it because they have odd shaped balls too?

Moved so it gets the prominence Jambo would have wanted for yesterday's result. I wonder if that most prominent of RIBnet 6 nations posters might be claiming to be Scottish now having moved his Chariot north!

It's been a good weekend of Rugby I think, despite the Calcutta Cup result.

I was particularly pleased to see the old warrior Cole back in a White shirt, and Smith continues to prove he's a genius, but needs more colleagues who can read his intensions like Malins did.

Wales sadly appear to be suffering a bit from lack of focus following the off-pitch fiascos they've been going through.
It was telling that Ken Owens appeared to be consulting the experience of Wyn Jones at times.

Also, I'm glad Italy are back in the game, I know they lost to France, but only just. That game would have ended France 50 - Italy 5 in recent years, and proved their win against Aus in the Autumn wasn't a fluke.

At last it's a proper 6 nations competition rather than 5 +1.

I think one can simply Identify as being Scottish nowadays.

It's basically just a tweed skirt and blue foundation...

Don’t you have to have lived as a Scot for 3 months before they’ll accept you? It used to be 6 months IIRC, but they lowered the standards threshold.

No, it's live LIKE a Scot for 3 months. However, the same people who arrange the Russian sports testing can provide very convincing results indicating high cholesterol and blood alcohols, so that sorts the prereqs...

You'd be unlikely to be tested but yes, instant fail if they detect anything other than rootstocks...

Probably easiest to test for traces of the Calcutta cup. Winning it’s becoming a pretty standard part of the Scottish year [emoji2]

Well hell, who would’ve thunk it eh.

What an afternoon of rugby. Scotland and particularly Fin Russel were on fire today.

What a day for rugby fans, regardless of nationality.

Yes I'm obviously happy that England won, but both matches were a great watch regardless of the final scores, and both could have gone either way right to the end.
Not sure I can remember seeing two such close and exciting games in one day for a while now.

Feeling gutted the day's action is over, worried that tomorrows game has a lot to live up to, and sad that it's all over for another year next weekend.

Days like today are why the Six Nations is the best championship there is.
