Folks say on a night like this with a South Wester blowing your very soul from ur body, you can hear the sad slow tolling of the church bells from the sunken lost land of Lyonesse.
Once there was a country beyond Lands End's
Twas a country of grand houses, fine churches a place theyd say that God him self lived.
But on a dark night just like this they fell from grace and out of the blackness came a sea as big as a mountain with a heart as cold as stone, taking every man, woman and child to a watery grave, leaving only thier fading cries beneath the waves.
By day all that remained to see were the mountain peaks to the west, now known as the Isles of Scilly and the remains of a great city wall called the Seven Stones where fishermen still tell of dragging up windows and doors in their nets.
But be wary all yea, those that hear the bells of the lost land of Lyonesse are so mesmerized and bewitched by em they'd throw them self’s into the sea to be with the lost souls of that land and are never seen again!
Shaggy
I think the nav was a bit out in those days Shag and it was actually Hayle. I've run over a few windows and doors in the street whils't driving through.
Nice it's missing us for a change - weather has been hell for ages. Hit 77mph last week at Mumbles - Pembrey is even worse!!! That was a Force 11.
Actually saw a pylon being hit by lightning on Saturday - hell of a flash. I was on the mobile phone to a mate who lives about 40 miles away and the instant I saw the flash he said there was a big power surge in his house.
