Aground in Howth today........

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guess who ran aground this afternoon in their nice new rib ?

Hint...Not me... and not the RNLI.... not the Garda water unit.....

It was the coastguard

4.30 and there he is....... just off the public slip..well on top of the mud actually ! Two fishermen looking down from the pier "how did he get up there ?"

Embarassed coastguard jeep driver said "it" (the new rib ) had a much deeper V than they were used to . Still it could be a good boat for digging through silt in harbours

My wife said (between the howls of laughter) we should not laugh at other peoples misfortune ! Still it could be worse.... some smarty pants could have put it on the internet.
