I can see who has voted, and how they voted. So far you are the only person who has tried to vote twice. DBATYT.

Whilst we are in a voting and democratic mood.

Can we have a vote on weather people who put out pots with inadequate markers should be shot.

I would gladly do that with a 20 mm Oerlikon

Unfortunately common sense NEVER applies these days with the law. For example the Police are more likely to do some old codger for carrying a knife than some hoodie.

So the law should be tougher for certain individuals?

Why not?

Most EU countries for example turn a blind eye to any EU laws they don't like. It USED to be the way things were done around here. Old school coppers wouldn't have booked an old man for carrying a knife for pruning his begonias but would probably have gone out of their way to book some yob waving one around in the streets.

'Discretion' on the part of a law enforcement officer will never work while the police have targets to meet.

It already does work. For example not every drunk in a public place gets arrested despite it being a criminal offence, the police use their discretion.

That's not discretion, it's a natural desire not to have a van and cell full of urine and vomit.

A mate recently lost his licence for a year for PUSHING his bike from the street to the pub carpark so he could leave it there overnight...

Sorry Nos but we're going to disagree on this, I think it is discretion. The legislation makes it a criminal offence to be drunk in public. Push it too far, become an obvious danger to yourself and others, and you get arrested. But at what point that occurs is at the discretion of the copper.
