In fact I have a PLB precisely because if the sh hits the fan, there is not much between you and death except for a yellow Sea King, and I'd quite like it to turn up!

It was a damn good effort by all concerned, rescuing 347 people with NO injuries would be impressive anywhere. They were lucky it happened where it did though - if it had been 24hrs later, the outcome could have been very different.

The Gov.uk link doesn't talk about all the other parties involved and the logistics of finding accommodation for 347 people in a community of 2000 with one small hotel at twelve hours notice...
