Is a record attempt any justification for someone to pilot an aeroplane for 76 hours and cope with an emergency situation? Lorry drivers are limited in the hours they do.
its the difference between leisure and commercial - virgin atlantic pilots cant fly beyond a specified amount of time on duty let alone at the controls...private pilots can fly for as long as they like - same on the roads for cars and trucks. fair play to him, must be shagged now..
I think anything goes in the field of lunatic endeavour.
Probably best that any other users of that airspace / shipping lane / motorway / footpath* know what's going on though!
After Ellen MacArthur did her round thw world some miserable **** wrote to Sailing Today or PBO to complain that she wasn't observing colregs. Their argument was that as she had to sleep some time, sho couldn't possibly be keeping a proper watch!
