Any email/phone gurus ?

Following a week of thinsg breaking/going wrong in my life my Nokia E72seems to have erased all the settings for the 2 email accounts I have set up on it !!!!

This follows my ISP/modem managing to erase any record of the network I Had set up at home.....

Anyway - anyone with a clue as to what I should put in the 'server' type boxes etc ? It wont even let me delete it all without being 'connected' . If I could do that I could start from scratch and try again!

Google searches for advice have been less than helpful !

Pete

If all the settings have been erased, what is it you want to delete?

Possibly not helpful, but I'm not sure that I understand where you're at. What network are you with?

OK - I was not very clear ....

The phone still knows the 2 accounts are there ( an aol & hotmail account) , but it has removed the settings.... ( mailbox type, server name, port etc ) . I am sure it happened on an old phone and I managed to remove the whole account from the phone and start again....but now the phone wont let me do this unless I connect - which I cant - chicken & egg time !

Im with virgin - which I think piggybacks T mobile ?

Email settings

What are the options ? Normally it would be pop3 and port number 110 for incoming and SMTP and port 25 for outgoing

Regards
James

Send a message via Skype™ to benc
Having a quick google around, it looks like aols pop3 server is pop.aol.com, which should use port 110 or 995 for Secure SSL connection.

And Hotmails is pop3.live.com, and this can only be used with a secure SSL connection on port 995

Thanks all , I have reset the server settings etc , but no luck - so a call to Nokia support and it seems this is reasonably common problem for them - a few codes later and all is fine again - needed a factory restart on the phone and took the chance to stick latest software on it so I am 'intouch ' with the world again .
