.......and think what it would do to your skis coming back down.
Spose you could've used that cat to polish 'em up again.

My favourite of all places though would have to be Argentiere.

I was there before the funicular was built which has actually opened up more skiing since my day, however they had a cabin which they towed skiers from one side of the glacier to the other as well as the tow rope system, but I knew the driver so I used to jump in the cab of the piste basher - got to drive it once as well although they are nothing compared to the modern ones! They lost one down a crevasse once and they climbed down and stripped everything off it in the crevasse as they couldn't get it back out!
I was lucky enough to be mates with a colleague who worked in Chamonix and I went over to see him a couple of times, and did the Vallee Blanche with my cousin as well. The Colleague was Euan McGrath who ended up running Zapcats! Small world isn't it! Enjoyed Chamonix / Argentiere, but still prefer Val D'Isere!

Unfortunately, it failed to survive the last few tumbles and the split in one of the seams got so bad, it started to leak things like hipflasks, wine bottles and cameras, so it had to go into retirement.

On a more positive note, a metre of snow fell over the weekend and there's now 1.4m depth

Went to Cervinia with DHDai a couple of years ago. From Cerv you can ski over into Zermatt which we did a couple of times. The skiing is good, but the lift systems are a little antiquated and disjointed. Too much up hill skiing for my liking.
