Anyone use an online vet med supplier?

I'm needing a lot of antibiotics for the dogs and the vets want my trousers down for them.

Need to find an online supplier

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm tighter than a Trouts ass, they won't budge on price, the funny thing is they will write me a presc for the meds for £12 so I can get them elsewhere.

You can buy these drugs overseas. However if border agencies intercept POM-V or POM-VPS drugs you can be liable to three prosecutions. Possessing, importing and administering an unlicensed drug. Just a thought. The reason the drugs are not licensed in the UK. Ivermectin in wormers a good example. Is it worth the few quid. As an animal health advisor,I would advise against it.

Like Bern, I use VetUK - they have a very good service. Check single tab costs against the multipacks. I find it cheaper to buy in "singles" for some stuff. They just cut them off the same roll anyway...

How does the Vet price for the drugs compare to the local pharmacy price? I don't own any animals - but as I understand it "human pharmacists" can also supply vet meds?

I couldn't actually answer that one as I've never bought a prescription drug from a pharmacy. It's Amoxicillin so I presume there wouldn't be much difference between the human and canine versions, if they are different at all.

Pharmacists and SQP's can supply but not necessarily prescribe the medicines.

Strictly speaking a human pharmacy as Poly describes them should obtain a licenced veterinary product to supply the veterinary prescription if it exists. For Amoxicillin it does. No harm in asking at your local pharmacy for a quote though.

The dose for a dog will depend on the size of the dog. Suspect it wont be the same dose unit as a human capsule to force the use of the vet product. Watch for them prescribing by brand...
