Makes yer proud to be British, don't it?

Lucky Mutt

As the happy owner/servant of these two, I can see why the huge expense is perfectly acceptable

Lol, think that was his aim but too stupid to chew the fence that wasn't next to a wall! If you look closely it was a panel on top of a panel. Must not pike B and Q!

It Was when he was teething. Better that than a kitchen! He can't be arsed these days, just sunbathes!

My dog spent quite a while reducing all the garden hoses in the backyard to neat little one foot useless sections of tubing. Nice clean cuts, though.

Not even a yellow one? She's just got back from a swim in the sea and fell asleep on my lap to dry off! 16 months old now and full of energy!

Crap,

This ain't fair!!!

I WANT A DOG!!!

So far, you've shown two likely suspects of my preferred mutt.

Short haired Lab (chocolate)
& collie....

Now to finish off the hand, would like to see a boat bound beagle and a long legged spanner.

Spaniels Lovely temperament, variety of sizes for houses/cars etc, but absolutely, utterly, bonkers! King charles are bred to death, (brain is too big for the skull) springers and cockers are great but unless you work with them, ie gamekeeper/farmer/rescuework/drug dog, i'd steer clear

collies probably cleverer than you! also much lighter on the feet than a lab. i run 5-10 miles with my lab and that will put him to bed for the day, collie will go on and on and on at speed as well! My friend fell runs and his goes on for ever. Not nuts like a spaniel, but hard to give enough exercise. Needs mental stimulus or will be very bored! Will chase cars and can be nippy if not well trained.

beaglesVery stubborn dogs, hard to train. Want to do their own thing. Again, needs a lot of exercise.

labs amazing temperament, great for families, hence their popularity. Just dont buy a show bred dog, generally taller with a fat head, round stomach and spindly limbs. Can look nice but less balance in their muscles. Friend had one who had terrible hip and wrist problems. They can also be almost too docile to the point of not even wanting to walk with you. His stands in the field while he walks round it. Get a working bred dog, bred for balanced build and health. Often shorter but much fitter. Often a bit more intelligent and so much fun. Heavier build than a collie, so can be tired out if needed.

Good luck

Then again you never know with Labs, my old one we were never sure if she would lick the burglar to death or eat it

Certainly some artistic licence in the story. I'd imagine the cougar was going for the dog in the first place rather than the boy. Poor thing, it will never chase the local cat again!
