Yes, but why, in your opinion, is stein's F&C Fal not a patch on the padstow shop?

I'm talking about "eat in" not takeaway.

When I've been to the Falmouth one there's been very little atmosphere. No queue to get in. Can't see the kitchen. Very large space.
It's just a bit dull.

In Padstow there has always been a queue, cheerful staff seating you. Can see into the kitchen. All bunched up together on the benches. Much more of an occasion.

Maybe it's because when I've been in Falmouth I've been working and when in Padstow on holiday!

£11-12 for fish + chips do you get 3 pints of best bitter with that or what.

Keep him down there cos he would sell F-all up here at those prices....a battered piece of cod with a few Jockeys whips for goodness sake.

And with a bag on your head, the kitchen is right there for all to view! Probably moreso than Padstow.

Maybe the Falmouthians aren't quite as so in awe of Mr. Stein as to throw handfuls of their money his way? They're a bit different in the Padstow/Rock area.

Harbour Lights, (80yds from Stein's, Next to Tragos) is easily as good, there's more of it and it's about 30% cheaper.

Nah, wouldn't be fair. I've been with other people who've eulogised over fish and chips while I've been picking at it thinking; 'are you sure'?

It's like many things in life, a matter of personal taste but you'll be glad to know the establishment I was referring to is 250 miles away from north Devon.
