Yep, we send an automated email out 7 days before the advert expires to ask the user whether they want it to be renewed, if they do not renew it, the advert gets deleted.

That facility has been on the site since I joined nearly 2 years ago.

How long are adverts displayed for? Maybe a shorter expiry time might be worth considering?

56 days, but the email goes out a week before. The advertiser does have the ability to remove the advert at any time themselves.

I must be very unlucky then as 9 times out of 10 the boat was sold. I'd still think about doing a check around 3 weeks.

They was a certain cheap Searider on the site for ages, I rang up about it and it was sold, the advert was still on 5 weeks later.

I thought people would like to know we have improved the search system on the site now so hopefully more relevant adverts will appear when you guys are looking to upgrade your RIB!

I noticed a certain RIB manufacturer has included evey single word to do with RIBs in his advert and also most popular RIB makes too. So when I search for Avon I get his boats even though thats not what I'm after!

Well after the changes we made today that should be less of a problem now, although not completeley resolved it is a lot better than it was!

have you been having problems with your server? I've been trying to get onto some of the adds for the past 2 days with no joy. I can get to the main list but not the actual adds.

I am not aware of any issues in the last few days that should have stopped you viewing adverts.

Is it working OK for you now?

"Boats" was me - I no longer work for them so no longer use the "Boats" username.

Quite frankly the company is managed by some fairly simple people, I would not expect any improvement.

Time to look elsewhere.

incase of any confusion my business name is Boatsandoutboards4sale. As the user ID on here is max 16 letters we've changed it to Boats&Outboards but I'm not in any way connected to that site.

I agree it's full of scams though.

I have said before, it would be great if there was a web site that allowed for searches that worked. Being able to sort engines by HP - now that would blow my socks off! lol
