Can't follow a link to The Fail...
...so I Googled it.
From the Mirror's "10 things.." piece on the same vessel:
9. Where will she land?
With its location still unknown the Lyubov Orlova could end up anywhere. It is estimated the most likely landfall is Western Ireland, Scotland and the far southern tip of England.
So anywhere on the west coast of the UK then? Could you be more vague? Is this what's known as 'filler'?

Far more media article's speculate she has sunk, last May.
The north Atlantic, is surprisingly busy shipping wise, she is not small and yet has not been sighted for almost a year.
If she did drift across, she would be following the gulf stream-as drifting. A lot of east bound trans Atlantic vessels follow the gulf stream in order to take advantage and thus go faster/save fuel so would be very very surprised if she still floating anywhere near Ireland or thw UK.
Love reports that quote... experts fear..... a poor media day!

So from what I read the Canadians tried to sell it for scrap because the owners didnt pay their bill ?
How come it ends up adrift at a risk to shipping then ?
Must be worth something as scrap.
(love the cannible rats bit - sounds like a plot to a poor horror movie thats gone stright to DVD)

I love the rat bit as well. Rats don't eat each other; that's what puppy dogs and kittens do.

The comments on the DM page are, as ever, worth reading, if only in disbelief. One attempts to contribute with:
"If we can find Russian spy trawlers surely the RAF nimrods with their high power radar can detect a ship this large?"
Thanks to the spiteful actions of our political class there is a minor flaw in that plan...
The house next to us is a holiday home, its owners avid readers of the Daily mail. Nicking the council logo off the internet, I wrote a letter to say that because the council's records showed it was not occupied, their house was being commandeered to house asylum seekers and would very likely be much in demand because their garden faced Mecca. They nearly exploded - despite the letter being signed by 'Idranq Tewmuch' and 'Mustafa Pee'

They should send the RAF out after that ship and use it for target practice - maybe Napalm it and crisp up a few of those crazed inbred cannibal rats before they make landfall and set on pets and babies....

Fal Coastguard appeared to be treating it seriously in their daily report on Radio Cornwall this week.
