car insurance

Just been shopping around for insurance on Discovery I have just bought - leading companies wanted around the £1000 mark - even direct choice who are always the cheapest on normal cars. Firebond who are dirt cheap on classics wanted £1100. Best quote of all - NFU £395!!!!

To sum up

Cars over 10yrs old classic insurance - Firebond

Normal and performance cars - Direct Choice(Taylor price)

4x4s - NFU

Well this is what I have found after a lot of time and effort!!!

car insurance

just insured my discovery online with the RAC - £230 fully comp for a @97 v8 ES - beat the next best quote by £50!! The are probably trying that bit harder because they are trying to boost their insurance sector. being an RAC member got me a bit extra off plus they upgraded my membership a level.

Love my 110 V8 and I can actully get 18mph out of it - not bad for an old brick but for towing my Rib longer distances it just has to be diesel.

Got to be honest though if I had found a nice V8 with a good LPG kit I could have been tempted but I also want to travel abroad and LPG can be hard to find in some areas!!!

Either you're stuck in low range or you meant mpg

WHOOPS!!!! Yes I did!!! My 110 will actually do about 105mph - stopped looking at the GPS at that speed......

Fuel economey is pretty good at 60mph but as soon as you put your foot down - ouch!!!

Just the other day, when paying Norwich Union over the phone, I was invited to take RAC cover for a good price. "You do know we've bought out the RAC." said the man at NU. Pete L, guess who you're really insured with.

I got £320 with PNB, One accident and a fairly new 4 X 4 from elephant.

And when I used them they were excellent.

All claims done over the phone or internet. Hire car no problem. Certainly although I felt I was paying cheap prices the service felt excellent.

Give thema try. they are part of Admiral.

I was with Admiral before and they were £100 more expensive.
