Charity 100Km Walk , London to Cambridge

Just dropped off my son and his best mate at Hackney where they start their 100 Km walk ( in 24 hours

) . When he mentioned this to me a few months ago , just for a moment I considered joining them , but when they also mentioned that some jogging would likely be required to achieve the target , I realised that it would be beyond me.........

. In short , this walk in the park , won't be just " a walk in the park " .

Richard is raising money for the Childrens' Charity Make A Wish and Robert is fundraising for Great Ormond Street , Childrens' hospital . Good Luck ( and small blisters ) to them both .

Looks like they are slightly behind schedule............

They have covered the first 49 Km in 12 hours and 5 minutes .

He did mention after his last practice walk that he may have gone off too quickly. Perhaps they are saving themselves for a big push ? Hope they both got navigation lights........

Well after almost 25 hours they have managed 84 Km . I haven't spoken directly to find out what their excuses are

but I believe they are going to try and see the task through .

Well they crossed the finishing line in 30 hours , 30 minutes ! No records broken but over £ 1100 raised for two excellent causes . Apparently it was the blisters , chaffing and sheer exhaustion that took their toll ......ouch !

X2 a good achievement!..very commendable.
Hadd on here is doing a 60m Charity Bike ride next weekend..Good luck with that one too,
