Club Membership Software - any ideas?

I need a recommendation for some free/cheap Club Membership Software (the willk Appreciation Society paperwork is getting to be a handful ). Srsly tho, I need to keep a track of about 250 people, with memberships of varying duration and get monthly financial reports. Some sort of Renewal alert is vital. PC based, not Mac.

Any ideas?

Not sure if this will be too expensive for you - but have used it in the past and it worked well - you get a free trial so at least you could see if it's what you are after before spending any money

Glad to hear the willk Appreciation Society is growing

Thanks for that, I hadn't found them. A bit rich for the almost non-existant budget but I'll check it out anyway, you never know...

Dead chuff I get Membership Card No1 - lol

Just another thought - you might be able to find someone on here who's a database whizz - they could probably pull something together for you fairly easily

Might be worth PMing Polwart as he sounds like he's familar with the wonders of MS Office

A quick Google brought this up:

No knowledge of the product/company though.

Actually, it's a Redbay Wraparound. It just looks like a phonebox.

Yep, MS Access would do it for you. Learnt how to build one for our office a few years ago, but sadly forgotten most of it. Very esoteric.

I did one with FilemakerPro in 1991, a right PITA. I may have to do something similar again - I really don't have the time though.

FWIW, I wasn't having a dig at Vipermax ribs popularity, just hinting that the owners might not make a big turn out for the WASoc, hence the compact venue . Poor composition skills can really let a guy down

Thanks for the nomination! Its not really my area of expertise, but what's the spec? As I do know someone who might be able to help/have done it before.

250 people is probably just about manageable in a "simple" spreadsheet.

It's mainly to keep track of Subscriptions and Renewals. I'd prefer not to involve anyone on here, mainly as it would be mixing Business with Pleasure, which doesn't generally have a happy ending (Yes JSP, unless one is at a brothel ).

So thanks all for the input, I'll either do something horrible with Access or cough up for a bit of Proprietary Software.

That's OK, at least you were quite clear on that point and in fairness you're consistent, almost predictable...

Phew! I feared I was being a little too subtle.

Willk, I spoke to my brother who does something like this with a club/association - but with the added complication of accepting payments over the web. Essentially their solution is to use a Joomla Based Website, with their "Community" tools to store the "membership database". He then has a component that enables them to accept and process payments etc. If that interests you I'll pass on his email address and he can supply the info of how he does it in more detail (i.e. which components etc). But if you looking for some sort of local program/database then I don't see any reason excel/access could not do it (Personally unless it involved multiple people administering it I would just use Excel).

Are you being paid to put this membership package together?

FYI, it's part of my job to keep track of the members, so kind of Yes, but I'm not selling the process of organising the membership to a third party, so sort of No.

Hence my reluctance to scrounge labour from fellow Ribnetters. Advice freely given, gladly taken though!

Not really, I just wondered why so many people would want to be associated with you without there being some sort of financial renumeration.
