Coffee Beans for Coffee Machine.
OK, so I have this machine now, which grinds from bean. I like my coffee, but I'm none too clued up on bean types. I've tried a few from Sainsburys which have ranged from ok to quite nice.
Are there any coffee aficionados here who can point me in the right direction?
I've googled this so far http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brown-Bear-M...n+coffee+beans
BTW, feel free to take the piss.

Take a wander into Tesco/Asda etc and have a look. Give the pack a squeeze, there's a pinhole vent so you'll be able to smell them. The big supermarkets seem to stock a fair few varieties to start you off.
I'm quite a fan of Percol Black and Beyond.

Erm... prawn references aside <snigger> I think it is. It's rather a high caffeine content
In any case, ignore any guides on 'daytime, evening etc' and go see what you like the smell of. I've been grinding my own and using a gas hob top percolator for years.

If you like
It is actually quite nice looking for decent beans. Taylors of Harrogate Lazy Sunday got opened earlier. Very very nice.

Taylors in the thang at present. Very nice, but I'm giving it two grindings for a decent large strong.

Try the Percol Black then-and don't do more than one grinding. I'll kickstart you nicely.

Places like Hasbean really need to do one-pot variety packs so you can decide what you like otherwise you never get to try them all.
We've got one down the road in Cirencester- KeithsCoffeeShop - and I've still never made it past supermarket/cornershop brands as there's so many to try and so much in a pack.

Hi there mollers , well up to a few yrs ago I had a couple of restaurants and coffee shops in London area before I moved up here , the best bean I found was a called Segafrado Zanetti . yes its cost a few bob more but its very good , you will not find it in the shops or supermarkets only over the internet , but trust me . If you do have a coffee machine at home use it as much as you can because the reason why a coffee shop coffee taste so good the machine does not have water sitting in the pipes and scale builds up and that gives the coffee a burnt taste . good luck any advice feel free

Cheers T&L
So it's a bag of Percuil river dredgings followed by a bag of Zenyatta Mondatta. I'm on it like a bonnet.

+1 however my Tesco's has stopped stocking it.
If you like strong coffee, there is a numbering system 1 weakest, 5+ strongest, you pays your money you take your choice.
Creme Gusto is also very nice.
