Now then, our main machine has just gone bang. No problem its fookin years old and has just had things added to it over time. So till we get a new un sorted im using me laptop. Dont use it very often so set it up for me broad band connection and it works.

Thats the good bit. When I start up outlook express and tell it to send and receive I get the following error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Have tried allsorts to sort it but it just aint happening. Anybody got any ideas or know what it means????

Easy - make sure - log on using secure password authentication is NOT ticked or the other one - my server require authentication.

Yes it worked thanks codders. Allthough I think I may have stumbled upon it by accident.
