Some of you on here knew my oldest and dearest friend Dave, known as Davybuoy on here.

Sadly his cancer finally beat him today at the age of 74, and the world is a lesser place.

He was a prolific lurker rather than poster on here, but always knew what was going on, was often at my side on cruises, and our families holidayed together in Devon for over 40yrs.

His 5.4 Searider was his pride and joy, and at some point will carry him for the last time when we scatter his ashes in Start Bay.

He was like a grandfather to my two boys, a great friend, a big character, and will be missed by many.

Sleep well you old bugger.

Many condolences Nasher, I only met him once or twice and briefly, but I know how much value you put on your friendship and your South Devon holidays.

Many thanks for your thoughts.

His wish was not to have a funeral service at all, just a big party after a couple of months when everyone had got used to the idea, which in the current situation is for the best anyway. His ashes will then be scattered at a later date again.
