Any insider tips for good spots to watch from? How demented will the traffic be? Is it worth taking the SIB?

Sorry I've only just got back in from a long day out.
As you suspect, the traffic will be hideous and due to this I always see the show by boat. But, friends of mine have recommended a couple of places either side of Dawlish, that have a great viewpoints and good facilities too. On the Dawlish Warren side, there is
http://www.langstone-hotel.co.uk which is a nice hotel and a really lovely spot. On the Teignmouth side there is
http://www.thesmugglersinn.net which is high up on the hill and well known for its real ale selection. :-)
Let me know If you take the boat route and I'll do whatever I can to assist you. I'll be rafting up with several ribs, hard boats and sailers, so we should have a reasonable amount of facilities (food, drink and loo's) available between us. There's always room for more.
I must say that seeing the Typhoon and Vulcan was the highlight for me at last years show. Considering it's quite a small town, I don't know how they do it. But I'm very glad they do!
