Exactly the same thing happened in Norfolk about six months ago, only it was a police-car they put the person in. There was a lot of hype in the local press about it - the police car was only a few weeks old and had cost something crazy like £40k. Was a right-off after they had got the guy out. Seems stupid to me. In the police car case the guy had been walking around the road when the police arrived. Surly if he was going to damage his spine he would have done it walking around rather than sitting in the car.....
The lesson is - unless you think the car is going to blow up - don't move people. And no just because someone can walk doesn't mean they can't have a spinal injury, or that any damage thats going to get done will have been. The damage may have been disproportionate to the risk but your perspective on that is probably differnet depending on if its your jag - or your professional indemnity insurance that is taking the hit.

You are right - they have gone mad!!!
Take it this is the one you mean??? Pity they don't do it to all of them.....
Just had an amazing idea - if you ever get involved in even a minor accident and the police put you in the back of their car for a breath test............
The thing to bear in mind is that the guy who bought this car for £3.7K isn’t a charity worker he will be putting this back on the road would you want to own a car that had been cut in half Des
