I doubt it - not many kids take cocaine - it's a yuppie adult drug.

Personally I have no problem with drugs - legalise the lot and get rid of all the crime overnight!!!

Well that would certainly get rid of all the drug crime. Now if we simply legalize murder, that would get rid of all the murder crime. Oh boy, we've got quite a long list of things we need to legalize here..

I don't know why people can't see it - look what happened in the States with Prohibition - as soon as alcohol was banned crime took off - Al Capone and his like had a field day. When Prohibition ended all the gangsters had to go elsewhere.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4647018.stm

Heroin was legal in Britain until 1956!!!

"In fact, as the Times editorial states, in 1955 there were only 317 addicts to "manufactured" drugs in the whole of Britain, of which just 15% were dependent on heroin. That's a national total of 47.5 heroin addicts. History, regrettably, does not record the precise circumstances of the half-addict."

Little bit different now isn't it?

Do you really think people would break into people's houses and cars to get money for drugs if they were legal? Are YOU going to start taking them if they were legalised???

Codders,

My greatest worry isn't when these people break in to your house, although I would not wish that on any one. Its when these smack heads are wondering the street all spaced out. I say if you legalise it then have places where they can do it safely for us, as well as them. And let them fund it.

But thats impractical. So making it illegal seems to be the only way.

If smack heads could afford as many drugs as they wanted they would be in no fit state to wander the streets.

I find that the biggest problems come from people who are drunk rather than the druggies. As long as they can buy their munchies they are happy.

The half addict was probbly Schizophrenic or perhaps a Siamese twin. Can you imagine what a bummer it would be if you were joined at the chest to someone who was spaced out and you weren't. Could be worse though,I guess, your twin could have got lucky and you hadn't

I got no problems with executing drug dealers or pimps for that matter, I also don't have any problems legalising either. But there must be a reason why it hasn't happened.

Out of interest how many crack addicts or coke heads can hold a job down.

You sound like such a expert have you tried politics.

Sorry this was a response to the Cod or Prawn

Not unless you condone the activities of low-life who target our children and have no sympathy for the misery they cause to thousands.

If you've ever had contact with someone affected by tragedy that the drugs trade brings on families you would be ashamed to have considered the emotion of sympathy, let alone typed such rubbish; drowning is too good for those scum.

If I found them alive I would throw them back in again. With my anchor strapped to them.

Well...I'm up for a bit of vigilante action if you like. Get Blue Ice launched-or shall we put blue uniforms on and take mine?

Hang on... I'm beginning to see a plus side to that much cocaine... is it finders keepers? That much coke could wipe out all the estate agents within the M25 AND make me a millionaire

Did you take drugs as a child? I certainly didn't and they were freely available in many areas I lived - especially Yemen.

I have also had dealings with people who's lives have been blighted by alcohol - I suspect FAR more lives have been screwed up by this socially acceptable drug. Any idea how many alcoholics there are in this country? Many more than the offical figures suggest I would say......

The difference between the legsalised, or should I say licensed, drugs (alcohol & tobacco), is that their suppliers have to work within a framework of legally and socially acceptable practises. The illegal and unlicensed trade does not, and unless you're very naive indeed, you will realise that there's nothing that the purveyors of these substances will stop at to further their sales. I'll spell it out, they are extortionists, kidnappers and murderers. The have no sympathy for their victims and they have no conscience. They don't have respect for the laws and social frame work of our society. Your concern is totally and utterly wasted on them.

And where exactly did I show concern?

Then again a human life has probably been lost - possibly someone who was condemned at birth to be born into the wrong background and upbringing.

Without knowing for sure I refuse to judge....................
