D'you need a laugh?

Went out last night to The Laughter House at the Red Lion in Basingstoke. It was an excellent occasion

Best of the comedians were Sol Bernstein, Phil Dinsdale and Danny Dawes. If you're in the Basingstoke area, the Laughter House is highly recommended, otherwise check out a venue where these guys are doing a gig. On the other hand, if you're easily offended, best give it a miss

And here's a top tip - sit on the front row and wear something that makes you really stand out, you'll get much more out of the evening

The best comedy club We ever found was in Covent Garden, just stumbled past it and had the bald chappie from Mock the week , and Will Smith the guy from the Late edition (with Marcus Bridgestock who is also a thoroughly funny chap!) I can't remember exactly where it was, but as with most treasures it was completely unexpected!

nooo! It was Alan Someone! - Yeah they did three men in another boat. I preferred the original when they rowed down the thames and mimicked the book.

Err... Al Murray?

Yep - Kerome K Jerome's book has a lot of material to work on, although there's an element of the Solent/Undina episode being very loosely based on Griff's own book "To the Baltic with Bob", although the voyage to St Petersburg was somewhat longer than popping over to Cowes!

My favorite al murray line was as he finished a show:

"And remember, a wise man once said you are what you think. And the french for think is pense!" (sounds like ponce).
