I think Lego is great for kids and is a great educational tool for smart kids. However, if one of those little rug rats leaves one on the living room carpet and you walk on it in bare feet then will will strangle the little bugger. Always preferred Mechano myself.

Ouch yes I had forgotten that!!!

I agree meccano was the business - it must have inspired a whole generation of engineers.

To see what can be done with meccano look at this - a model of the World's first ever proper computer - Babbage's difference engine.
