Expat

This time next week I fly out to Canada to become an expat rib.netter.

I'll be living in St. John's, Newfoundland with the Crazy Canadian. (well actually amongst loads of them cos they're all nuts in Newfoundland )

I wont be leaving rib.net but I'm unlikely to make any of the physical get togethers again. I've been part of the ever expanding online community since 2000 after meeting JK at the London Boat Show. I've spend a massive amount of time when I should have been working posting here and made some good friends who I'm gonna miss. This is a tremendous resource for all interested in RIBS and generally fun and friendly place to be.

To all those that know me - Adieu and our paths may cross again one of these days. If you ever make it out to Newfoundland look me up!

Cheers,
Alan

Best of luck to you both, Alan & Laura. Hope you'll find the time to visit your 'baby' from time to time - and you'll have to put up with seeing me and Richard too, although we'll let you drive.

See you next August (hopefully), if not before! Bon voyage!

I think that, in this case, Mohammed should come to the mountain..

If you get your backside over to Saxon on Sunday morning, you can drive my boat up to Yarmouth and I will buy you lunch at a hostelry of your choosing. You never know who you might run into there. Last week there was Roy Smith trying to unload his mighty Picton on some very keen & well equipped looking punters (How did it go Roy ?) and Martin and his wife on Crystal Maiden, plus about 4 other Ribs that you might have been able to place.

It was, after all, you who suggested that I have a look at Ribnet. It seems like a very long time ago now, but heh, what's fifty gags ?

The ball, Sir, is very firmly in your court.

ATB

All the best Alan,
I enjoyed our first trip out together in Yellow Tang on the first Ribnet Thames cruise. We have shared some good cruises since.

Sad to see you go, keep in touch.

Give my regards to Laura.

Brian, You are a scholar and a gentleman sir and you're offer is very much appreciated. Unfortunately the inevitable hangover on Sunday AM coupled with a need to empty & clean my house means that I wont be able to make it. Maybe on a summer trip back to Blighty in the future I can take you up on it!

Cheers, Alan

Alan,
I can't understand why you would want to leave sunny Rayleigh for Newfoundland! All the best to you and Laura. I hope it goes well for you both.
Kind regards,
Dave
