It depends what you want from it I suppose. Vancouver was a fabulous city when I was there decades ago - the kind of place I think I might like to live now - City, Sea, Mountains, Weather - it has it all. Full of Canucks obviously, but hey, nothing is perfect
Touristy cities - as someone said, Rome is very impressive. Food, History, quite friendly natives, euros, it's sooo easy...
Party City (micro-city really) - Galway, Ireland. What a gem.
Places I didn't like: Lerwick, Shetland.
Mrs willk wants to go to Paris, I'm fighting the idea - who needs to go to an overpriced city full of French people who appear to want you dead? I haven't returned to the USA after the whole security thing got into fingerprinting and body scans and background checks and so forth. Sorry guys, it's a big planet and I can be made feel that unwelcome in Egypt for a fraction of the cost.
Well, that's not an exhaustive list, but it's probably more than you wanted to hear

Stunning location but the actual city has nothing remarkable and the sea is too bloody cold to use - colder than it is here mid winter! Very frustrating when you are on a gorgeous beach of which there are loads.

+2 Wife booked a suprise trip for my birfday, I wasn't all that fussed about going but I put a brave face on.....Blew me away, absolutely stunning.
Bangkok is "Interesting" especially from a TukTuk in rush hour, the chaos is incredible, but no agression & everyone is smiling, or at least they were until they started shooting each other

Venice.
The roads are flooded up here most of the year and I can float the boat out the driveway most weekends but it's just not the same.
Reykjavik. Looks like Glenrothes but has the Blue Lagoon and beautiful women. Just don't buy a bottle of beer. ££££'s

Wasn't it Confucius who said "man who walks through airport turnstile sideways is going to Bangkok"?

Don't like any City...Too crowded!
But if I had to name a couple I liked it would have to be Gdansk and Cologne. Oh and a vote for my local, Portsmouth too.
