Flame and Thunder.

Anybody else considering going to this:-

http://www.santapod.co.uk/e_flame.php

I haven't been there for a few years, and it's about time the smaller Nashers went on Petrolhead Pilgrimage to 'The Pod'.

Yes it's an incredible experience. Mate of mine used to run an old Ford Mercury pickup from the 50s with a chevvy V8 and NOX - seriously fast - 0 to 100mph in about 5 seconds!!!

The engine noise was incredible - you could feel the exhaust beats on your chest.

This is a similar vehicle.

The smaller Nashers and myself had a really good day out at the Pod yesterday.

Best run of the day was 6.7 seconds by Fireforce, one of the jet cars, with a terminal of 254mph.

I'd forgotten how good it was sat at the start line watching the launch, and how much of a complete experiance it was with the noise, smell and feeling as the funny cars and rails go by.

Why did I leave it so long to go back? don't know, but I won't be leaving it so long again, time to re-live my youth a bit.

Was also rather impressed with Podzilla the pods own Monster truck climbing over a full sized coach with a bit of help from a mondeo and a london cab.
I'm sure it's on youtube by now but they appear to be down at the moment.
