Read about it in the paper today. `bout time too, i paid 1.06 per litre of deisel today, cost me 71.10 to fill up my Transporter! Thats far too much. Are prices now more than at the time of the last blockade? When was that 5, 6 years ago?

Yes - it was just over 7 years ago, and the price rise is pretty much in line with inflation... ...whereas the price of oil has roughly doubled in that time.

Word has it that fuel needs to double in price to realistically make us think about our driving activities.

Which is fair enough if you have other options available, many dont, and then there are commercial operators, who have to pass the price rise onto consumers, or absorb it ...again.... I have no other way of shipping my gear about other than by road

the funny thing is I begrudge the price of diesel I put in my car, mainly due to the fact that it is mostly tax... however I only seam to have a smile on my face when filling up the tanks for the rib..... wonder why that is
£1.80 don't give them any ideas

I'd be looking at around 500 litres of diesel to do that run.
I guess somewhere between 8.6 and 10mpg depending on load, how much lead is in my boot that day and traffic.
