Good one Nos42, now we know they are there and exist.
The powers that be have suggested this "Cracken" before judging by the scars on Sperm whales, now its a photo.

I think they are based very deep though, or so I console myself as I swim often in the sea...... I like calamari, and calamari likes me!!!!!!

Those monsters are scary - there is another link there to a video clip from Japan of the giant squid attacking prey - the speed it moves is scary - it looks like an alien creature when it attacks!!!

To give you an idea of what such creatures can do there was a giant tropical aquarian that kept losing sharks - they were drowning at night - they lost about 10 sharks before they realised what was killing them. An Octopus - only about 6' across - was catching the sharks and drowning them just for fun. Think what a monster like that could do!!!

Yep Octupii (is that correct) and squid are very intelligent creatures by all accounts. They are great hunters and I can only imagine a creature like this moving at speed with us on the menu...
