If it's any help at all to anyone trying to give up smoking......
In the 4 years since I stopped I reckon I have saved £10,200 (30 a day at around £5 a pack).
That's a big chunk of dosh (looks better when converted to euros! €15,172)
Apart from the tremendous health benefits and a feeling if immense smugness I reckon that would pay for a fair bit of fuel and servicing for your rib.
The best of luck. It's tough but worth it in the end.

Anyway, there I was, lying in bed in unfamiliar surroundings, with the beautiful dark eyes of Doctor Heather looking down at me and in a velvet voice she said:
"It's up to you, Russell. You can smoke; or you can live. No pressure."
So I quit, there and then.
Seven years now.

Hi Bigs
I am sat here with a 10inch incision in my gut, a bag tied to my leg. Got out of hospital 2 days ago after C. surgery. I have quit for 6 days now. I do not recommend going through this as a solution. Please give a quitting another try.

Hi,
No need stopped at least six years now and no intention of going back.
The original message was for Spike but its been bumped off to a thread of its own.
Best of luck with your recovery.
Nick.
