At the time of watching the prog a couple of weeks back I noticed that the guy was very reluctant to talk about the conversion cost with the programs front man Kevin Mc'Cloud.

Taken from Wales Today website:
Although Mr O’Donovan will not reveal the cost of the project – which he jokes, is between “a fair lot of money and an awful lot of money” – programme makers said the couple wouldn’t get much change from £600,000, with more than 200sqm of building to renovate.
“The building is evolving from what its previous use was but the key was to maintain its character,” said Mrs O’Donovan.

Thanks for the heads up on this episode Mollers. Really enjoyable with the interest of the buildings previous use and the guy's brilliant laid back attitude. Superb finished result... but I too wonder how practical his slipway arrangement will be.

The rib actually belongs to his business partner. Since it arrived in Tenby it hasn't got wet. My best pal is a Tenby resident and occasional drinking partner with the LB house owner. Cost is nearer the 1 million mark, and the programe was way out on the annual estimate to maintain the building.

I nearly cried when the bureaucrats made him paint the wood white.

I nearly cried when they buried the cherry picker rather than hook the swinger to it from the start. I sat in on a couple of seminars by Kevin McCloud and George Clark. They explained that the producers insist on having a element of 'jeopardy' in each programme. I think that the 'J' aspect can be a little contrived at times.
