Great day at Girvan Lifeboat Station

We had a absolutely great day yesterday for the naming ceremony of our new Shannon class ALB.

Apart from a great turn out from the Town and other supporters we also had the company of our neighbouring stations Troon, Portpatick and Barra Island that just happened to be in for refit.
Thanks to everyone it was just a lovely day.
Small video of some of the highlights

Congrats - nice bit of kit.

We had two of them here this week, 13-21 was in town to train our helms on the new jet control (I think). I presume yours is the Mark II, bit more top end?

Many Congratulation to you and all at Girvan Lifeboat Station from Kilkeel Lifeboat

The Shannon is definitely at the cutting edge of lifesaving technology and I know she will be an invaluable asset to all in the Firth of Clyde.

Unfortunately your link did not work for me but I did see it through YouTube:

Brilliant to see four All Weather Lifeboats together in one harbour, and a Redbay 11m photobombing proceedings

I'd say there were a few sore heads this morning

Yes brilliant boat and fast great handling. Ours came straight of the block in December and we had to train the whole crew. Yesterday was great with all the ALB’s quiet a sight one which will Not be seen to often. We just needed Campbeltown for the ‘nap’ hand. Then would have been interesting if there had been a shout.

Thanks Joe. She sure is best at present and we’re very proud of her. It was a great spectacle indeed.
Best wishes to all at Kilkeel[emoji106]

Yes one or two sore heads as it is also the annual Folk Festival as well this weekend.
Cheers
B
