Hampshire Police -Safety Cameras

Hampshire Police seemed to have rolled out every speed camera they own today in a major crack down from 7am this morning. Take care if your driving around the county.

Wonder if they will be out Monday for the traffic returning ! Being a Bank Holiday I bet the Police will be pretty scarce due to it being a double bubble day. I should imagine today is a day to make people think about their driving for the whole weekend.

I drove drove to Poole for the first time ever yesterday. What a scary experience that was - a speed camera round every corner - no exaggeration!

They're likely having a party and needing some funds.

Or a new Range-rover/BMW.

It's funny; down here they all drive round in BMWs. Back in Norfolk our local police station has a defender and a P reg ford escort.

As was pointed out by Pete the Police were everywhere last night. Loads of cars parked up all over the place. Didn't seem to be traffic cops but just normal Police, I think all the traffic Police have been replaced by those guys in Discoverys with Black and yellow checker markings that just help out at Motorway breakdowns.

Anyway seeing as they can do it once and make an effective Police presence why don't they do it all the time. Would make you feel a lot safer.

They don't make me feel safe, quite the opposite in fact. I have a female friend who is 19 who got attacked about 2 weeks ago. Phoned the police and it was like it was more than their jobs worth to attend to it.

I too have been the "victim" of the Hampshire constabulary. I was picking up a drunken friend of mine who foolishly put his foot in the path of one of my wheels. Not a big issue; he ended up with a bruse (I cant spell bruse) on his big toe. However a policeman saw it and decided to run it through as an RTI. Breathalysed me etc etc and I had to report to a police station within 7 days with all my paperwork. This meant a trip back to Norfolk to collect my MOT certificate. I was not impressed.

So yes, I don't like the local "bacon". They don't appear to have done anything for me so far, but have caused me a great deal of inconvenience. By contrast the local plod back in Norfolk are totally the opposite. We had a wheel barrow stolen from the garden. They sent an officer round who looked at our CCTV, took the tape away, questioned various locals in did find the guy who took it! I suppose it's just the difference between scummy city police and county Bobby's who have nothing to do but investigate wheel barrows and sheep rustlers.

Here endith the rant.
