"The post-holder will be required to undertake harbour patrols on the Board’s patrol vessels, provide information and collect charges at public slipways and man the harbour office. The post involves a great deal of RIB handling and contact with the public.

£9.50 an hour, for an experienced qualified candidate. Same as the bloke who sweeps the yard. I can see why they're advertising it.

At that rate he will be charging a cut price £5 slip charge and pocketing it to get a living wage.

...and they work all weekends and bank holidays.

It would be good for a student who has their PB2.

In fairness the only essential qualification is a £200ish, one weekend course! There will be plenty of applicants, including those with all the nice to have bits of paper too. Its probably about the same as a traffic warden without quite so much abuse!
