Hello RIBers, I'm back!
Hi peeps, thought I'd check in with you after all these years.
I'm still boatless, but after a number of years caring for my father, I have just started a new job. I was having a conversation the other day with some workmates about the Ribnet Christmas Trophy's that I made all those years ago.
Does anyone know what ever happened to them and who the custodian's of the trophy's are?
Here's a reminder of what they looked like.

Hi welcome home! I don’t know where the trophies ended up, can you remember how long ago you made them?

Wow HT, first time I visit Ribnet in months and you've popped up too.
Good to see you are still about.
I'll dig out an old back-up drive and have a look where the trophies ended up.

Hi John, one was 2006 and the other was 2007. I won back my own Best RIB build Trophy in 2008, the RIB Tickler went to people that had mishaps. The Jackeens won it one year for bending a prop coming out of Ryde harbour I believe.

I didn't really go away, but just sitting quietly on the beach watching the goings on in RIBNET.
All well thanks, just started back to "working" life after a number of years looking after Dad. And you?

I'm a frustrated boater at the moment, The Nashers Revenge is part way through me swapping the old DT200EFI for a 2005 225 Optimax I purchased nearly a year ago.
But the yard where the boat is keeps going into lockdown for some reason so it's going in fits and spurts.
I've rebuilt the transom and run new underdeck trunking, so next job is to lift the engine on.
But I'm lucky enough that I've collected myself several old Ducatis over the last few years, and can play with them in my garage.

I've managed to dig out the last Awards list from the last Xmas dinner, which was 2011 at the Bridge Tavern in Portsmouth.
Mainly old names on the list.

I thought the RIB trophy was with Biffer, but didn't know the prop went to Trev.
I'm glad you've still got your RIB. I was thinking of buying another boat, but something like a Parker Pilothouse 660 for fishing.
I can't pretend to like motorcycling myself, but it's nice to see you finding a new pastime (like me and my Truck), your workshop looks neat and tidy. Have the boys left home yet, one wanted to be a marine biologist if memory serves?

Hi Andy - yes I've got the Rib Tickler prop - awarded for stuffing and completely filling the boat with water with Rick on board when heading for Brighton.
I'll be more than happy to pass it on to someone more deserving once this is all over!
Trev

You're more than welcome to continue to be the custodian of the trophy until someone in the future decides to resurect the regular get togethers. Then, if you feel the time is right perhaps could be handed on to another custodian, unless you win it again
