Hilary Lister Round Britain

I saw a news item about this person a short while ago and was compelled to look at her website.

On Ribnet we are all seafarers. We all put to sea in conditions that sometimes put our ( perhaps more able) bodies and our varying abilities to the test.

The main thrust of this young person's exploit is to raise money to allow other less able people to experience the freedom and challenges of going to sea.

I looked through her website and saw several photographs of her journey. I imagined my (relatively) able bodied self in her place. I was humbled.

I know the constant requests for charity from tin rattlers at Tesco and the annual barrage from Children in need reaches saturation point (for some) and may seem a little remote from our own perceptions of what is a 'worthwhile cause' and what is not. However...

As a seasoned (in no particular order) sibnobbur, ribnobbur, dinghy sailor, yachtsman, diver and general windswept and interesting seafarer.....I felt this particular cause was worthwhile enough to make a small donation which, on it's own, I will not miss. Together with other donations it will make a difference.

Agree with your sentiments, met Hilary at London Boat show and offered help, she is inspiring but I have no idea how she achieves so much. I also attached her web site to mine to try to gain some more links for her and her team.
