Home Broadband (again)

I am looking for info again on what is the best way to gain a broadband supplier(assuming it works out here) and maintaining a second line with the package,

Presently I have broadband with a wireless router and with that is a second line that I can transfer business calls to allowing me to effectively have a business line and private. Presently all calls on second line which is via broadband router are free at any time to any UK landline

Now you can maybe see why I like this package and dont want to give it away. Only issue is my supplier ORANGE (EE) have been appalling recently.

Download speeds vary from 1Mb to if lucky 3Mb, I wont mention upload speeds ahhhhhhh

Any ideas to research please or from someones knowledge Ta

I think Ian means his "second" business line is a VOIP line. If this is the case, any Broadband provider will work with your voip service.

Cheers Tim, yes I think this is the correct answer, Have again just come off phone to service provider and since APRIL when this started they are sending out an engineer start of next week.

My needs are a broadband service to office in my house, with a second phone attached to it so this become business line without paying business rates on lines. As Tim says yes linked direct into broadband and Orange call it a second line and it does have its own telephone number independent of home

There are loads of voip providers out there (most of which are probably better and more flexible than orange). If your broadband is rubbish then change providers and get a new supplier for your voip line (I use soho66). What sort of problems are you having?

Slow speed and varying speeds from 0.06 download earlier today whilst Orange were trying to fix it up to max of 3.8Mb now. The service cuts out, VOIP is now poor when before it was as good as a normal phone, call centre in XXXXXXX and a script they follow on every call, call centres always overloaded and wait 10-20 mins to be answered! Just a few to think about

I've been getting a terrible service for over a month. Talk Talk have been utter rubbish at trying to get it sorted and communication from them is also crap.

I'm going Virgin next week as it's the only provider offering fiber-optic connection.
