1976 - a bit of practice without getting wet.

(My Dad made that boat in our garage and it was painted a different colour every year or so)

Started sailing Mirror dinghies about 1998.
First handled a RIB 11th August 1999 (the day of the total solar eclipse).

It was a Narwhal. Probably about 4m, but 9-year-old me wasn't paying attention to that sort of thing...

I've been talking with mum and reminiscing about old times. My lot were fishermen from where I live now and that's about it. Was on the boats as a babe so that's 58 years. I can remember a black zodiac. My mum was telling me about an old ply powerboat that the old man got with a hole in the bottom. He tried to repair it and got it in the water only to have the ply rip off at speed the water came in went straight up between mums legs and took her glasses off

I belong to an island so started on boats nearly sixty years ago!! In my time I have been deck boy on fishing boats and leisure passenger boats. I have sailed and had various types of power assisted boats eventually fishing up with my present Ribcraft eight years ago and really enjoying it:-) Sent from my iPhone using Rib.net

I was brought up around SIBs and early RIBs.

My Father had one of the first Flatacraft Force4s
