Sorry HughN, I quite enjoy Halloween!
Maybe it's because I'm a Celt, or maybe it's because I spent the formative years of my younger childhood in the US, or (very much more likely) I've got two young daughters and it's a good excuse for me to arse about a bit
With recent events, this year's festivities weren't really taken notice of. However, these are last year's efforts. Even the dog got in on the action...

I like halloween. But I'm not overly fond of visiting children and their smug parents with the sense of entitlement. I have to put up with them at work, so I make Chateau willk a bit more of a challenge:
Scale locked gate or barbed wire fence
Walk 100m through an unlit wood
Avoid pack of black cats
Discover there is no doorbell or knocker
I was working in the shed one year and heard a carload of mini-scroungers decant and nail the neighbours. "What about that house kids? No Mummy, it's too scary!"

My one concession (whilst lots of pre-teens ran round the house) was to add a lot of fake blood under my eyes, letting it drip down my cheeks - with a bit out of my nose for good measure.
Getting into the lift at work this morning I saw in the mirror that the fake blood had left a red stain that hadn't washed off. <- almost literally.
