I Phone help

I went to Apple shop today to get Find a Phone sorted and also add I cloud, they stated I need to back up all details from phone first on Itunes and then download any new upgrades before putting all my stuff back on.

Great for those computer minded but for me I may as well fly the moon shuttle!

I have an ITunes account I have I logged in and phone is hooked to system but can I see a back up opportunity. Can those who know and understand link it for me or tell me in simple terms how easy it is please.
My phone is a 3 series not the new 4.

... then you've already backed up. It's an automatic function of making the iPhone to iTunes connection
