Interesting pan pan yesterday in the Solent

I was sat with my feet up in Island Harbour yesterday when Solent Coastguard relayed a pan pan call from Telefonica Black, which had been dismasted off Bembridge.

Whoops.

Probably a bit less now.

After reading some of the experiences of it on TripAdvisor I'd suggest it's possibly being maintained on a shoestring.

What I can't comprehend is it's been run as a business for a while yet they have set up a £100k target GoFundMe for new mast/rigging? Almost 50% of the (spoilt by the mast falling off) current sale price.
