IOW Music Festival - anyone going?

Any one going to the isle of wight festival this weekend? I'm heading over for the weekend. Acts include Faithless, ravorlight, feeder, REM, Supergrass, Travis etc. Should be a good weekend if the weather holds out.

Yeah finishing edduecashun feels a bit odd, but then again that might be Coors

Good to see you on saturday too, would've come over and said hi to Richard but had to leg it back to revise Got a load of pics as usual, some fairly good ones of the RNLI demo.

The racing sounds like it will be good, but then at a race you don't get to be a soap dodger for a weekend and use largely foul and smelly portaloos...am I selling it?!

WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!

The highlight for me was Faithless on the friday night...absolutely breath taking when some 10,000 people started jumping to Insomnia, God is a DJ and we come one. Something I will never forget.

Saturday morning went home (island home) and had a shower and stocked up on BBQ food and beer then chilled in the sun listening to the likes of Feeder (also sounding amazing), Goldie Lookin Chain (very very funny), Ray Davies of the Kinks (legend), Roxy Music and Travis (who forgot the words 4 times).

Sunday turned out to be very very busy with REM headlining. Embrace managed to get everybody jumping up and down, quite something if you are tall enough to see over most people .

Received a call from some other RIBnetters during Starsailor (thanks for the call guys!) but I should have said if you had come up the media all the way, you could have watched the festival for free! I bet there are not many people in the world who could say they have seen REM from a RIB for free!

REM were awesome as well with the whole site packed out with 30-40,000 people all singing to everybody hurts and man on the moon. Then there was a great fireworks display to top it off.

Friends and I then heading to the Bollywood tent for some crazy feet dancing action. When it closed we engaged in a mission to finish all of our beers which resulted in a few drunken antics including shopping trolley racing (I now have a lump on my head) and manaing to get the whole campsite shouting random c-list celebrity names for about 2 hours!

All in all a great weekend....can't wait till next year. All you local RIBnetters should raft up on the river by the festoval site for an evening!

Cheers

Tim
