Ipaq 3850...

Does anyone have an Ipaq 3850? Or more importantly, anyone got the setup/software CD that comes with it?

Over the summer, I neglected my Ipaq for just too long - and the battery went completely dead. Whilst this isn't normally a problem - I've backed up the contents - it becomes a major headache when I can't find the software CD to re-load onto the thing The CD appears to have been 'mislaid' in the house move.

HP/Compaq have (to date) appeared quite unhelpful - so if anyone could help I would be MOST grateful......

I have a 4700 but I have no idea if it's the same CD or not!

I'll check tonight if that helps...

Thanks Richard!!

It is the e-wallet software that I'm really after - I think its the only bit of software that I use from the CD (at least it's the only one I miss/need!!).

Erm..dunno...

Any chance you could look at the CD that came with it to see if there is a piece of software called e-wallet (I think) - and if so, would it be possible to e-mail me the setup file?!?

Thanks!!

Thanks Shaggy - I've looked there but it doesn't have any of the extra software that was bundled on the CD.

Dylan, I've found the CD but it only lists iPaq hx4700 on the label and I can't find e-wallet on it. Here's a folder list:

Here'a a thought though... if you do a Google search for e-wallet there are a number of shareware downloadable progs with that name... are you sure it came on the HP CD?

I have the cd fora 5455- if you want it - pm me and will send "it" to you.

Havnt done this for a long time - the only thing I think is on it is the instuction manual and active sync ( there is a later version from Ms - 3.8)

If I remember correctly - had to re-flash the ROM.

If you had not used it for some time-

- charge the battery
- remove the battery and put back / reset or "hard reset"
( I did propose to Hp about 2 years ago that a hard reset was "dropping" it on
a concrete floor- they thought that was funny)
It should not loose the programs.

Try also :

Thanks everyone - Matt (mdt) has sorted me out - no problem!!

Eupa - the Ipaq has lost all of the software I loaded (not the ROM stuff, but the stuff on the RAM memory), the completely flat battery has effectivley done the hard reset for me - it doesn't even know who owns it anymore!!

I've retrieved the data from it thanks to Matt - and as I never really got on with the E-wallet thing - will now look for an alternative!!
