iphone anyone?
With my continuing conversion to Apple consumer products I have just acquired an iphone, albeit a little late in the game. I absolutely love this phone and its features (large keyboard, ease of use). Anyone else out there with testimonials, complaints? I have only had it a week and so far it has been pretty flawless...

I haven't seen one over here yet-they are locked to the O2 network here-which doesn't seem to have many users.Last time I used their phones the coverage was appalling which probably explains it.

A friend and I bought 10 iphones from the US last year, made a few quid on them! Demand for unlocked iphones is huge in UK

Brilliant piece of kit for useability and saving the hassle of carrying two devices, eg can put it in the car, it syncs up to Audi MMI so get standard bluetooth phone features and can play music without any hassle. Only drawback in the UK is the internet speed is next to useless unless you're in a wireless hotspot like the airport or at home..

I've got one. Love it.
I like:
1. the flawless email collection;
2. the automatic trusted wifi connection;
3. touch screen is sooo good;
4. phone call clarity is the best I have encountered;
5. Apple's implementation of Google Maps and psuedo GPS is cool;
6. the camera is good (regardless of what people might say about its 'lack' of megapixel;
7. syncing all your photos with your computer is excellent. (You'll be surprised how many times you'll be showing chums your latest pic);
8. The SMS texting is the best on the market. Brilliant.
9. oh, and its got an iPod built in
10. web browsing is very intuitive.
What I don't like:
1. no Contacts icon on the home screen;
2. web browsing is pretty useless outside a wifi hotspot (however, I never knew there were so many hot spots until I got an iPhone);
Would I get another?
You betcha.

I just got a free upgrade to a Blackberry Pearl 8100 - email is faster than it updates on my PC screen, the qwerty keyboard and predictive text is the best I've ever used, GPRS speed is quicker than I expected,
- The good news
- Email is faster than on my PC
- QWERTY keyboard and predictive text is the best I've ever used
- GPRS is quicker than I ever expected
- It's got maps and pseudo GPS
- It's syncs with Outlook for calendar, contacts and everything
- Bluetooth works better with the car kit than my N95 Nokia
- null
- The bad news
- No GPS
- No Wireless
- Not bothered about music - I have a video Ipod for that
Oh yes and it's no bigger than a regular phone - smaller than a Nokia N95!

Try the HTC Kaiser/ Vodaphone 1615 / O2 XDA? basically every one re-brands it.
We were forced to use a windows os not sybian due to work and as they are paying can't really argue.
Its got GPS, free tomtom6,GPRS, decent keyboard etc camera shutter lag is horrible.
Otherwise its much better than I thought it was going to be.
As to operation on the water not sure yet I think a decent case is in order or an otterbox.

Agree with Jelly - these are great, work just swapped to Blackberry and it is crap. wish for my old smart ohone back! have had several of these over the last 5 years so pretty familiar with it. blackberry - apart from the size and it seems fairly robust with stable software the blackberry just seems awkward to use and very low on features and frustrating at times. browsing is awful - so slow! no windows compatability etc...
the camera is awful too!
