It's a mad world . . .
The council have just spent thousands putting wooden posts along our road to stop people parking on the grass verges (actually quite a good thing)
This morning thery're going along the road chopping the tops off with a chainsaw! Looks like they were 6" too high (seemed fine to me). And no, they're not tidying up from knocking them in - they dug out deep holes for them.
Anyway, it takes 2 people to chop them and chuck the bits into a barrow. Hard hats each for safety, but no pads for using the chanisaw! Perhaps they're worried one of them migh lob the offcuts a bit high?

Perhaps it's because of some Ludicrous EU Policy where posts are now only allowed to be of certain lengths, shape, proportion or some other b******s!!!

I say make the posts higher, add a cross post and nail the bastards to them. Bloody politicians, either gay, perverted, sleezy or plain useless.

I think you're safe there - you can crash trains, lose millions of pounds and/or generally f*** up peoples lives and still keep lucrative public contracts (and probably get new ones!) Council officials now avoiding the area.
BTW all posts are now beautifully shorn and the top section with pressure-treated preservative has been removed, leaving untreated wood to rot to a tasteful rustic finish. Having said that, I suspect the local boy racers will finish them off well before any natural end! A post up the sump perhaps . . .

And on a nautical theme...
Floating pontoon outside Swansea barrage - great if you need to come ashore without going through the locks which take ages with the huge tides. Also used by the charter boats etc to load and unload passangers.
It was damaged by a very high tide last year - STILL hasn't been replaced!!! When I spoke to the marina manager I have never heard so much council bollocks in all my life.
Apparently it will cost £40,000 to repair it - they will fix the steps this year - do a risk assement next year and get some consultants in - then the year after they will replace the pontoon - 3 years!!!!
Of course they have managed to find the money to fence in the whole marina with 4" dia stainless railings - must have cost a bloody fortune - all to stop some drunken bum falling in at night!!!

Better still just save all your money up and go and live in another country.
The Lunatics are now running the asylum. (Thats Labour).

Very true.
Never mind the NHS is great - ONLY costs us £100 billion a year - that is the same as the GDP of Israel, Ireland or Egypt!!!
